Grinched Eggs
-
– You’ll need:
-
12 eggs (or however many you’re in the mood for)
-
Green and yellow food coloring
-
2 tbsp white vinegar
-
Mayo (a good scoop or two)
-
Horseradish sauce (just a squeeze be sure to taste it as you go)
-
Prepared horseradish (another dash for extra zing)
-
Edible glitter (emerald green or any Grinchy shade)
-
Tiny candy hearts for that Grinch charm
Hard Boil the eggs
Put eggs in a pot, cover with cold water, and set a 20-minute timer. Bring to a boil, and once they’re done, pop them rightnto an ice bath to cool. Peel with care!
GET GREEN!
Make the Grinch Bath: In a bowl, mix room temp water, a few drops of green and yellow food coloring, and 2 tbsp of vinegar. Make sure there’s enough water to cover the whites. This is where the Grinch magic happens! Mix until its a grinchy green you like.
Prep for the Fun Part
Slice the eggs in half, carefully pop out the yolks, and set them aside in a bowl. Toss the whites into your Grinch bath and let them soak up that green magic for 20 minutes or more. Go for a deep Grinch green!
Sparkles and FIlling
Once the egg whites are Grinchy green, rinse them gently under cold water and pat dry. Dust with a sprinkle of emerald green edible glitter! Next pipe the spicy yolk mix into each green egg. Add a tiny candy heart to each one for that perfect Grinch touch.
Mash the yolks and add a nice dollop of mayo, a squirt of horseradish sauce, and a blurb of prepared horseradish. Taste as you go – these should have a Grinchy kick! Scoop it all into a piping bag to make filling easy. Remove egg whites from their grinch bath, rinse them with cold water and pat dry. Sprinkle the whites with edible glitter and get ready to pipe in the filling. Add a cute candy heart and voila! You're done!
